EBC Course Application Form
In order to take any of EBC’s TEFL courses, our TEFL and Trinity College CertTESOL course in Spain, Greece, Philippines or our online and hybrid courses, you must follow an application process.
The first step is to complete the application form, which is divided into four basic steps:
- enter your email address,
- choose the EBC course you would like to take,
- select your preferred course date
- and tell us a little about yourself: your education, your interests, your expectations and your reasons for wanting to be an English teacher.
Once we have received your application form, the EBC team will assess your application and guide you through the application criteria.
One of the entry requirements is that you have an admissions interview and take a basic English test. The test is quite straightforward for people who have an advanced level of English. If you are a native English speaker or a non-native English speaker with a high level, you should not have any problem with the test. It should not take more than 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
After you pass the test, you must schedule your admissions interview.
If you are from outside the EU, the admissions interview will be done via WhatsApp, Skype or Viber. If you are already in the EU, we can call you on your mobile. There are 7 standard questions on this oral test and regardless of whether you are a native or non-native English speaker, these will be the questions asked. The examiner doing the test will take down your answers and write his/her notes, commenting on your verbal competency, comprehension and ability to reason logically in English. Before you have the admissions interview you must send in a short (around 200 words) hand-written paper describing why you would like to be an English teacher.Your paper will form part of the admissions interview.
The test and admissions interview are part of the Trinity College entry requirements to make sure that you will be comfortable taking the course.
After you’ve passed the test and the interview, you will receive an acceptance email to the course date of your choice.
Upon acceptance you are highly advised to guarantee and reserve the course date you want to attend as places are given on a first come first serve basis.
After you have guaranteed your place with a deposit, your dedicated student adviser will give you all the information you will need for accommodations, student visa (only if you are a non-EU national), administrative details and bank details so you can pay for your course.
Once you have passed all the admission tests, have been sent your acceptance email and have guaranteed your place, the EBC admin team will send you all the details so that you can access the ‘Student Zone’ and start your course.
