International accreditation – TEFL / TESOL accreditation explained in understandable terms

International accreditation organisations must be government overseen. Firstly, this means they are credible and internationally recognised accrediting bodies. Secondly, they award public domain certificates. These are essential when you apply for things like visas and work permits.

What does international accreditation mean to you?

In simple terms, international accreditation means quality. However, it does not end here. A lot of schools claim they are internationally accredited, but this is questionable.

Language school hiring managers get loads of CVs every day. These managers probably get dizzy with the number of TEFL certificate names on these CVs. How do they cope?

Let us pretend that you are the hiring manager. Firstly, you look at the certificate name on a CV. If the certificate name on the CV is Trinity CertTESOL, you put it on the shortlist. No questions asked! You may choose other CVs. However, these are almost certainly certificates from our peer-level competitor.

Why was your Trinity CertTESOL selected? Firstly, your certificate is from a government examination board. Secondly, a visiting external moderator checks your course. This external moderation ensures quality control. Thirdly, your Trinity CertTESOL is internationally recognised and accepted by the British Council (a published fact).
