What is the Trinity Certificate for Practising Teachers (CertPT)?
Do you want to improve and develop your teaching skills and strategies to face the ever-challenging world of teaching?
If you do, come and study in our international community of language teachers. We run small and personalised courses with 6-10 trainees. You receive personalised training, individual and group feedback from experienced trainers. As with all Trinity qualifications, there is a strong emphasis on context, personalisation, practical application, and critical reflection.
The Trinity Certificate for Practising Teachers (CertPT) is a diploma level (Ofqual level 6) accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) qualification that supports English language teachers’ professional development.
The Trinity CertPT enables practising teachers to access specialist training and certification to transform their teaching practice.
Course applicants are admitted with a minimum English language proficiency of CEFR Level B2. Instruction is given in English, but written assignments can be in English or Spanish.
The Ofqual Level 6 Trinity CertPT is for teachers with a minimum of 6 months of classroom experience, with a language level of B2+ and who want to combine their work and professional development through online study. The course focuses on the design and use of effective teaching materials. It aims to develop lesson planning, classroom delivery and reflective skills through its assessed tasks.
You develop your ability to evaluate, adapt, create and reflect on the use of context-specific teaching resources.

Innovative assessment model
You learn through live-streaming online courses with your course trainer and classmates. International accredited qualifications
The Trinity CertPT is an Ofqual Level 6 qualification between the initial Level 5 teacher education certificate and an advanced Level 7 diploma qualification.
The Trinity College London Level 6 Certificate for Practising Teachers is an internationally accredited qualification for experienced educators.
This qualification is regulated at level 6 on the UK Government Ofqual Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), making it equivalent in status to the final year of a bachelor’s degree at university. International Higher Education institutions may accept this qualification as course credit towards a degree programme.
Teachers can take the CertPT as a standalone continuing professional development (CPD) qualification independent of other teacher education qualifications. The CertPT is also part of Trinity’s TESOL qualification suite. It is a practical progression step from the Level 5 CertTESOL that can also be beneficial in preparation for the Level 7 DipTESOL.
