The online Trinity CertTESOL course is known to almost everyone looking into a career in TEFOL and TESOL. Almost everyone knows that the Online Trinity CertTESOL certificate is a gold-standard certificate and is one of only two certificates recognised and accepted by the British Council. There are days when we get lots of emails and messages from prospective TEFL trainees, and I sometimes find myself at a loss about how I can help them. Most quality schools want a quality certificate.
Is the online Trinity CertTESOL certificate globally recognised and accepted?
The first question I usually get asked is, “Is the certificate globally recognised and accepted?”
There are loads of white-label courses, but only two have proper international recognition and acceptance. The online Trinity CertTESOL course is one of them.
Frequent concerns about TEFL courses
I receive many valid concerns. They range from the preadmission testing, their eligibility to join the course and how to get the Trinity CertTESOL certificate, spending the least money.
They also want to know about working in Spain legally, the benefits of an online course and COVID related issues.
There are many other concerns, but finding an English teaching job after the course was almost always brought up.
Will I be suitable for the course?
One Italian trainee was unsure if she was suitable for the course because she was a non-native English speaker. On this same theme, I have had Russian, Spanish, Philippine, Rumanian, Belorussian, Brazilian, and lots more non-native English speakers express their doubts about their eligibility for the course. So first, I tell them they need to pass the two preadmission tests. The first is the 200-word handwritten assignment to check writing skills. The second is a spoken interview to test comprehension and speaking skills. Trainees must also have at least a C1 level of English. Most applicants make the grade. The handwritten essays I receive are mainly good; the sentence construction, vocabulary, proper punctuation and grammar are all spot on.
How expensive is the online Trinity CertTESOL course?
Regarding getting the Trinity College CertTESOL certificate without spending too much money, I offer our Gold Programme or the Road2Spain Programme. I explain that if you take the online Trinity CertTESOL course at home, you can save as much as 5,000 US Dollars. Let’s start with the 4-week housing. After that, you have to pay for accommodation if you take the F2F (face to face) course. Then comes your living costs like food, utilities, transport, pocket money, phone, etc. Our F2F Trinity CertTESOL course also costs 400 Euros more than the live streaming, online course. Finally, you need to pay for airfare because you must come to Spain to take the F2F course.
Of course, you still have to pay for airfare when you come to Spain. However, you don’t need to spend that money straight away if you do the CertTESOL course in your country. Instead, you wait until you are fully qualified to work as a Trinity CertTESOL certified teacher and then come to Spain. If you plan it well, you’ll have your job lined up before you arrive.
As a Trinity CertTESOL qualified teacher, finding work in Spain will be easier. The chances are you will not need four weeks to find a job. The stress factor is also not that high to find work straight away.
F2F graduates are around 5,000 USD out of pocket when they finish the F2F course. After the 4-week F2F course, they have to find a job fast. The ones on the live streaming course have more funds to tide them away while looking for that right TEFL job.
I want to get a job quickly, will you help me?
Of course, our applicants ask us about finding a job. That’s when I discuss with them our Worldwide and Lifetime Job Placement service.
The EBC job placement service is unique. It is open only to our EBC Trinity CertTESOL graduates. We have 387 partner language schools waiting for our graduating classes to interview and hire for their TEFL availabilities in Madrid alone. The number of partner schools depends on the city. The bigger cities will naturally have more partner schools.
Our worldwide, lifetime job programme has been highly effective since we started it early in 2003. Our job placement programme is an exclusive service for EBC graduates. Many graduates of other schools, contact us asking if they can avail fo our Job Placement Service. Unfortunately, we do not give job help to people whose schools did not have any job support, or the alleged job support is not as advertised. We at EBC not only provide a lifetime and worldwide job placement service, but we also provide unlimited career advice to our graduates or those transitioning to other EFL/ESL jobs, moving to other countries for their English teaching jobs or moving into the EFL/ESL senior management departments.
I tell our applicants that it is pretty straightforward. There are English teaching jobs but getting the right connections to bring you good English teaching jobs is not easy. So if you want to teach English abroad, join EBC and use our job programme. Would you prefer that we get your CV delivered directly to the hiring manager or Director of Studies desks, or do you like to do it yourself? The choice is yours.
I want to work and move around the world, can you help?
There are two essential words to remember about our job service; Worldwide and Lifetime.
Worldwide – we can help you find that TEFL job anywhere in the world. For example, we had a very adventurous and daring young American girl who wanted to experience working in Siberia as an English teacher. She was hoping that we could help her find a teaching job with children. Long story short, we helped her get an English teaching job in a Siberian Primary school, and she taught her classes in igloos! It wasn’t your ideal teaching scene, but she loved the experience! She taught in Siberia for one year! She then moved on to a warmer climate, and the last time she emailed, she was the Director of Studies in a much warmer country – Costa Rica. Now she is in New Zealand.
Lifetime – means you can use our Job Placement service anytime you want. Some of our graduates as far back as 2006 went home after a year in Madrid, had families, worked in other jobs and are now ready to go back to teaching. All they did was email us and tell us where and when they wanted to start teaching, and the Job Placement service started again. So you never lose access to the Job Placement Service for as long as we’re around.
I am not from the European Union (EU); can I work in Spain?
For our non-EU applicants, we offer the Road2Spain Programme, which includes the four weeks online Trinity CertTESOL course and the 1-year Student Visa and Spanish Programme Package. The Road2Spain package starts with the four week online Trinity CertTESOL course. After your 4-week course, you come to Spain with your one year Student Visa allowing you to study Spanish for one year and work as an English teacher. The student visa allows up to 20 hours of legal English teaching work.
F2F (on-site) courses have personal contact and online courses don’t
While F2F courses give you personal contact, there are more advantages and upsides to doing the four-week Trinity CertTESOL at home. At the end of the day, after your 4-week CertTESOL course, you are off to the country where you wish to teach, and this is where the real, meaningful and lasting personal contact begins. It starts with your colleagues, your ELLs (English language learners), and the city’s locals where you live and work as an EFL teacher.
I should also remind you that while it is true that Spain is a lovely country, during the four week Trinity CertTESOL course, you have almost no social life! Your evenings are used for assignments, and weekends are used for even more work unfinished during the working week. The Trinity CertTESOL is an intensive course. So my question to you is- “Why spend all that money when you can save around 5,000 USD by getting certified at home and then come to Spain with extra pocket money?” 5,000 USD would buy you lots of sangria and tapas.
I always remind our applicants to find ways to save their money. One way is to get that Trinity CertTESOL at home, pack their bags with their CertTESOL certificate, and land in Spain ready to work as English teachers.
Why is the EBC Trinity CertTESOL worldwide lifetime job placement programme different from the rest?
The increasing number of courses not accepted and recognised by the British Council forces employers to be more demanding and discriminating in selecting new EFL/ESL teaching staff. As a result, private language schools, training colleges, elementary and secondary schools, multinational business corporations, etc., only want to recruit new graduates who can make an immediate contribution without a lengthy induction process.
Why is the EBC TEFL and TESOL programme so successful?
At EBC, we value the professional training we give for that initial EFL/ESL teaching job and a future teaching career. Let me tell you about our innovative and collaborative placement and career preparation programme for trainees at the EBC Trinity College CertTESOL course.
The CertTESOL certificate course is jointly delivered by a course tutor and a careers advisor.
The key to the success of our Programme is the synergy developed between the two programme coordinators, who combine their respective extensive pedagogical experience, industrial experience and career counselling skills to facilitate a series of practical, participative workshops that develop the trainees’ employability attributes.
The EBC Trinity College CertTESOL worldwide, lifetime job placement preparation includes a proforma CV which you can see and access from your EBC student zone account. This prepared CV has a standard summary of what you learned in the course. You only need to complete the objectives, personal details, and work experience (not necessarily teaching-related).
Will you prepare me for getting a job?
Our job placement preparation is a structured and dynamic programme of workshops aimed at career planning/career opportunities, placement preparation and job interview techniques.
The job application process comprises CV writing, recruitment process advice, interview techniques, mock interviews, which involve both tutor and career adviser’s assessments and feedback. In addition, you are required to give brief presentations and conduct interviews as interviewers and interviewees. These exercises develop your interpersonal and communication skills and provide you with confidence as an EFL/ESL teacher.
The job workshops also deal with opportunities and preferences based on geographical employer demands. Specific case studies, experiences of previous trainees, student advisers, tutors are all discussed in the workshops. You are also advised on further training you might want to go into for specific posts. These specialised posts are an examiner for official exams such as the IELTS, TOEFL, trainer for CertTESOL courses, Course Director, Director of Studies, English as a Foreign Language Dept Head, etc.
When the moderation schedule permits, a presentation by a senior manager of a hiring language school is given to graduating trainees adding credibility to the Programme and highlighting the competitive nature of the recruitment process and the need for high-quality teachers.
On the mock interviews, ‘killer questions’ are discussed, and appropriate answers are suggested.
Great English teaching jobs are around, but these jobs will not be open to you unless you are professionally trained.
Our prospective applicants more than often become our trainees. They find that they receive precisely if not more than what they were told at their fact-finding time.
Some trainee comments from our recent courses
“The company had been recommended to me by someone who knew I was interested in doing a course in Madrid. So I applied for this company and another one but this process ended up moving faster, so I went with EBC.”
“I was looking for a course that combined quality training with a Spanish student visa. In addition, the double certification and Trinity accreditation was appealing because in India as well, Trinity is considered very high level. What finally made the decision very easy was Tita’s prompt responses over months of my indecisiveness. She always answered all my questions any time of the week before I enrolled in the Programme. It made me feel like this was a course where the company and trainers cared about students and wanted to find solutions that would work for us.”
“What I was looking for was a serious certificate, really dependable, so I did a long search to conclude that the only ones were then CELTA and CertTESOL. I was very undecided between the two; let’s say that the choice was guided by the sensations of the moment. I had seen that Trinity College has schools all over Europe. I could also have taken the course in Rome, but the idea was to move to Spain. Madrid would have been the right compromise; that’s why I chose you. My programmes changed anyway, and I am still in Italy (about this is another story). The chat with Tita also helped me to decide.”
“I chose this course over others mainly for the visa. There was one other which provided a visa as well, but I chose Trinity because of the accreditation and reputation of the school. Also, I thought the quality of education would be better than others.”
“The dates of the course fit well with the timing I had available; also, your online information was quite clear. I could easily see and understand the layout and day by day schedule for the course (which surprisingly not a lot of other courses were very clear on). Also, the price was reasonable, and the timing though not ideal, was manageable.”
