I recently finished EBC’s intensive 4-week CertTESOL course, and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the process, nor with the organization that facilitated a tricky career change and helped me place my best foot forward as I transitioned from the boardroom to the classroom. Of course, such a month-long transformation wouldn’t have been remotely possible without the course’s inherent rigor, which serves to challenge students no matter their academic and/or professional background, nor without the arsenal of exceptional instructors who were there with us and for us at every step of the process. Owing to the meld of rigor and support, I was not only able to jump into the classroom quite early in the process (day 4 in my case), but was likewise able to receive ample feedback on my teaching style, of which I could then internalize in thinking about the next opportunity to put theory into practice (there were many of such). At the end of the 4 weeks, I felt further rewarded than what could have been gained from a year-long university seminar, and as prepared as one could be to move into teaching. And yes, EBC absolutely supports students in their job search, and I have thus far received ample guidance from the organization in landing a teaching position. This is something of a rarity in the TEFL-sphere, where certificate grantees are oftentimes given a few phone numbers and/or emails from the granting organization, and then told to go make their mark on the world. At EBC, the job support is robust and lasts a LIFETIME (There are examples of individuals who changed roles/academies/locations through the organization years after graduating).

As a final thought, and for anyone seriously considering moving into TEFL/TESOL, we live in a society in which it’s becoming increasingly easy to flip through a few online modules and then locate ourselves in a remote corner of the globe, only to find out that we were wholly unprepared for the expected and even more at a loss with the unexpected. Please…don’t be that person. Linguistic education opens up doors to economic, scholastic, and social opportunities, and those opportunities shouldn’t be suppressed due to our lack of proper qualifications. Hence, if you truly want to have an impact in the classroom, deliver results, and change lives in a way that rewards the instructor much the same as it rewards the students, then you will, of course, have to invest in becoming that individual, and there is no better organization to facilitate such a process than EBC :).

It was a really wonderful experience. The teachers and tutors were always very kind, supportive, and ready to help whenever needed. The course is really intensive, but everything is explained clearly and every student is given the support needed to do their best and complete each task.
Before every lesson or teaching practice, the teachers always provide helpful feedback and useful suggestions. The website is also very rich in resources, with exercises, examples, materials, videos, and grammar guides. Even though the course is online, it truly feels like being part of a real school, with a library, classrooms, and extra activities. Nothing really feels missing.
It is a very complete experience, both as a student and as someone preparing to become a teacher and professional. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to start this journey. Even if you don’t feel confident at the beginning, I personally received a lot of support and encouragement, and I was able to complete the course with great satisfaction.

This course is not for those looking for a breeze and an easy TEFL teaching certificate. It requires hard work, intensity and a strong desire to learn. I almost gave up after the second week but thankfully Iza persuaded me to keep going and it was well worth it. I now have a strong foundation from which to work in any direction of teaching - groups, one to one, different levels, adults, Young Learners - all covered in the course. I thought it was great! The teachers were all very highly qualified and dedicated to helping you to understand and progress all along the way. Thank you all at EBC!
