CLIL is based on the principles of language immersion. 1 – Fill out and send your application

  1. Please go to our application web page.
  2. Follow the four easy steps in the application process where you will enter your email address, choose the course you would like to take, select your preferred course date, and tell us a little about yourself: your education, your interests, your expectations and your reasons for wanting to take the course.
  3. If your application is accepted, we will arrange an admission interview with you.

2 – Attend your admission interview

IMPORTANT: This course is a UK government-regulated qualification, so it must meet official quality controls, one of which is the admission interview. Trinity College London will not allow you to take the course if you do not take and pass the admission interview.

  1. We will arrange an admission interview time with you.
  2. You can choose ZOOM, WhatsApp, Skype or Viber for the admission interview.
  3. The interview has a set of standard questions and information we must tell you before you attend.
  4. If you pass the interview, you receive an acceptance letter and instructions for enrolling on the course.

3 – Enrol

  1. When you get your acceptance letter, we strongly recommend sending your deposit to guarantee your course place. We allocate course places on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. When you have guaranteed your place, your dedicated student adviser will give you all the information you need for the course.

NOTE: Your admission’s interview file is registered with Trinity College London and audited by the Trinity College London appointed external course moderator at the end of your course.

This course prepares you to create, use and teach CLIL material to match your students’ learning needs.

The course also includes lifetime, worldwide job placement that helps you get an English teaching job whenever you want.

When you graduate, you will:

  1. get a Trinity CertPT, one of the world’s two leading accredited teaching certificates;
  2. gain CLIL teaching skills for use in a single language or multi-lingual classroom;
  3. be able to find, create and adapt CLIL teaching material;
  4. know how to determine your students’ learning needs;
  5. know how to interact with CLIL learners;
  6. know how to manage a CLIL classroom;
  7. reflect on your material and performance enabling your continued growth as a CLIL teacher.

The course has four foundation tasks. You must pass all of them to pass the course.

Task 1 – Resource evaluation

Produce an evaluation of a printed or online CLIL teaching/training resource:

  1. evaluate the resource through the lens of your professional practice;
  2. assess the resource in terms of relevance for a specific learning group;
  3. make explicit links to your teaching/training context;
  4. demonstrate insight into broader educational practices and the impact it has had on your professional practice;
  5. include a fully referenced copy of the resource in the appendices.

Task 2 – Rationale for an adapted resource

Produce a rationale for a printed or online CLIL teaching/training resource you have adapted to be suitable for at least 15 minutes’ teaching/training for a specified learner/learner group:

  1. explain the reasons for the adaptations, making direct reference to the specified learner/learner group;
  2. demonstrate insight into broader educational practices and the impact it has had on your professional practice;
  3. include a fully referenced copy of the adapted resource and the original resource in the appendices.

Task 3 – Rationale for an original resource

Produce a rationale for an original CLIL resource you have created that is suitable for at least 15 minutes’ teaching/training for a specified learner/learner group:

  1. make direct reference to the specified learner/learner group;
  2. explain why the resource has been created in the way it has;
  3. demonstrate insight into broader educational practices and the impact it has had on your professional practice;
  4. include a copy of the resource in the appendices.

Task 4 – Reflection on resource use

Write a reflection on the use of either the adapted CLIL resource (from task 2) or the CLIL original resource (from task 3):

  1. identify strengths and weaknesses of the resource, with direct reference to the specified learner/learner group;
  2. suggest solutions for the identified deficiencies and, where appropriate, for improving the strengths;
  3. include evidence of learner, peer and manager feedback on the use of the resource and an example of the feedback.

The whole experience was mentally exhausting, you really have to get ready for this. The workflow and rhythm were completely different compared to what I was used to, especially with the shift to an online setup. It required major adjustments in almost every aspect, from lesson planning and managing digital tools to keeping up with an overload of information coming at me all at once. At times, it felt like my brain was in overdrive, constantly processing, adapting, and trying to keep everything afloat.Time management played a crucial role in this course, and it was definitely one of the biggest challenges. Balancing everything wasn’t easy, especially because studying was not something you could just skim through or do passively. There was a significant amount of reading involved, and it wasn’t just about going through the materials—it required deep comprehension. Every reading material had to be thoroughly understood in order to apply the concepts effectively, especially when it came to creating well-structured and meaningful lesson plans. Simply put, reading for the sake of reading wasn’t enough; you had to analyze, reflect, and connect the ideas to your own teaching practices. That level of mental engagement, combined with tight schedules and multiple tasks, really pushed me to develop better time management skills and stay organized throughout the process. The learning curve was steep, and balancing everything was a real challenge.It was truly a complete package of learning and experience. The teachers were absolutely amazing—smart, supportive, and deeply committed to helping us succeed. Whatever questions we had, they were always there to guide us, making sure we understood what was needed to pass and thrive in the course. Their support went far beyond simple assistance; they were incredibly generous with their knowledge, offering insights not just for lesson planning, but also for exams and preparing for interviews. I graduated with a Trinity CertTesol certificate from EBC in July and have only positive things to report about the school, the course, the trainers, and the process, from first contact to graduation.The school and its staff were very helpful in answering any questions I had and, in fact, proactively provided the most important information. The course is designed logically and allows students to digest each aspect, apply it to their teaching, and evaluate its usefulness.The trainers are the most impressive part of the course. It quickly became clear they are experts in their field, but on top of that, they were warm and welcoming, creating a productive atmosphere in lessons that carried across the course and made the whole process as straightforward as it could possibly be.The school provides practical and relevant information on the employment market for ESL teachers, which was particularly helpful to me as someone who is new to teaching. Saying "I recommend this school" is an understatement. I think that there are several key factors we need to take into account when recommending a school to anyone which include: A school that complies with the standards, A school that fosters a supportive environment, and A school that provides a quality type of learning and EBC have met all of these.The CertTESOL is recognized as a Level 5 qualification, It is an intensive and demanding course that covers a wide range of teaching methodologies, language analysis, and practical teaching experience. I can confidently say that this is by far the most challenging course I have taken so far. The amount of paperwork and practical tasks you need to complete to pass the course is staggering but understandable because this is, of course, an intensive course. Everything you need to learn about teaching the English language is squeezed into 20 days' worth of classes. Despite that, the rewards of gaining this lifelong professional qualification far outweigh the stress of the course.The composition of the course is well thought out. A unit dedicated to learning an unknown language for example I think is essential for us, as English Teachers to expose us to the different teaching styles we can make use of when delivering English Lessons to ELL Students. The Teaching Practice also allows individuals who have zero experience in teaching to be exposed to an actual classroom setting.Although I mentioned that this is the hardest course I have taken so far, the support I received from my peers my Trainer, Iza, and the Managing Director, Tita was immeasurable. They are there every step of course. From pre-qualification to moderation, they have provided us with the best support. We were even given one-on-one feedback throughout the entirety of the course to monitor our progress and discuss the things we need to improve on. Because of this, It helped me achieve my full potential.This course is not only for those who have zero experience in Teaching and want to shift careers and be part of the academe. But also for those who already have experience in teaching like me who would like to further their qualification. After all, The Trinity CertTESOL is a widely recognized qualification.So if you are thinking of taking your CertTESOL anytime soon, do consider this institution.

I did the Trinity CertTESOL online course. It was 4 weeks long, and very intense, but I learnt a lot and felt sufficiently equipped to begin my career as a EFL teacher, especially because of the teaching practice with real students from around the world. I have since been applying for jobs, and due to this real teaching practice, I have found that schools are happy to hire me even though I don't have much professional teaching experience. The school also offers great job support, and I have received multiple interviews through this process. I would recommend.
